My New Alphitobius diaperinus!

Today while cleaning a friend's barn, I found some Alphitobius diaperinus, (Buffalo beetles), and larva of what I hope are Tenebrio obscurus (Dark mealworms). They were in some old corn and hay, and seem to have a large population in the barn.

These guys make good feeders and clean-up crews, so I am very excited to have them! I have roughly two dozen adults, so that should be enough to start up a colony.

Here are a couple of pics, these guys are hard to get good pictures of!

I also got paid money to clean the barn, so basically I got paid to collect new beetle species! Overall I had a pretty good day! :) Hope you guys enjoyed, and I'll see you guys next post!
