Had a bit of a scare with one of my other larvae, found it wandering the surface of it's enclosure the other day, though it looked reasonably healthy and plump... After a quick examination of the enclosure I realized the sand in the lower layers had dried out completely, (one of the things I hate about pure sand substrates, can be hard to tell at a glance if they need watering). After adding moisture to the lower layers I put the larvae back in it's enclosure, and down it went. Must have been thirsty, hence the wandering on the surface.
Since it was nice enough to come to the surface though, I did snap a few pics of it:
So far so OK with these cuties, I'll continue to update this blog if anything changes!
